Tomorrow River State Trail

East end parking

May, 2024 by banker.kyle

There's no parking at the Manawa end. If you're wanting to start from the east end, there is a small dirt parking area in Ogdensburg just off the trail. The 5 miles of trail from Ogdensburg to Manawa are pocketed with horse hoof imprints so you don't miss much by starting there. The location is off highway K/E and Moore St in Ogdensburg. Map coordinates are 44.454120, -89.029714

Great trail, otherwise. Scenic and peaceful. It will be much better once its complete.

Pine Line Trail

Not really for bikes

September, 2023 by kylehdavison

I biked most of the length of the trail while on a long-distance tour. With 1.5" tires it was challenging to get through, and sometimes nearly impassable. The gravel shoulder of Highway 13 is easier traveling, honestly. The surface isn't crushed limestone. It's made of loose gravel and stones up to 1"—basically the same as the ag roads in the area. I would only recommend this if you are on an unloaded mountain bike or fat tire bike.

That said, it is flat, straight, and low-traffic in a beautiful area.

Nice quiet trail

Went from Oshkosh to Hortonville for a total of 44 miles. Very good shape and little bike traffic. Really enjoyed the ride. Limited amenities along the trail.

Buffalo River State Trail

Not for biking

July, 2023 by rbeeley

Glad I didn't go out of my way to check this trail out. Consists of loose dirt, very little gravel. Cannot effectively ride any kind of bike on this trail. Don't waste your time unless you have an ATV.

Green Circle Trail

Lots of variety to enjoy natural areas

July, 2023 by tedijw

We biked the whole trail today and found it amazing! Trail takes you through a wide variety of natural areas including several opportunities to bike along the Wisconsin and Plover Rivers. Well worth the time to explore the entire trail!!

Meh..

Did the whole Southern segment. Was a decent trail..the usual trail trail..nothing spectacular. The part of the trail running along the water is pretty. Low rating is for the all the horse **** up n down the entire trail. The leaves this time of year really hide the piles.

Green Circle Trail

Loved It

This trail system is awesome and will def be back when I can spend the whole day exploring all of them! It was pleasantly surprised to see it ran through the sculpture garden! Love that it passes by water and has boardwalks.

Buffalo River State Trail

ATV trail but bike friendly (mostly)

September, 2022 by travisdeweese

I have to confess I didn't do much research ahead of time for trail conditions and usage. So I was a bit surprised when I discovered it was a atv/utv trail. I started in Fairchild and everything looked promising. A nice firm trail surface, little to no traffic, beautiful landscape...until I hit the quick sand. Well, that's what it felt like on my gravel bike. Maybe 5 miles into my ride the trail went from nice hard packed to loose sand where I could not pedal. I bailed onto the adjacent paved road and considered quitting for the day. However the road I jumped onto paralleled the trail so I decided to explore a little. This worked out very well as I continued West on the paved country road until I hit a trail crossing where I was happy to discover the trail was back to a firm surface. I stayed on the trail all the way to Strum (20 miles?) where I turned back and started making stops at the local food and drink establishments I had passed along the way.

Overall the trail was mostly firm and great for my gravel bike. A couple sections in the open heat were dry and loose but rideable. I noticed many a paved country road that paralleled the trail so there were options out. The motorized users I encountered were all very polite and slowed down when passing.

Some of my Favorite stops included: Northwoods Brewpub in Osseo, the Tin Tiki at Trails End near Price and Blooms Country Inn in Price.

3 Stars for excellent conditions at times. A unique adventure on a well maintained surface. One local told me they grade and care fore trail system quite regularly so you don't see giant mud holes or bumpy washboard sections. And I can verify that.

Rode a small portion on August 30, 2022

September, 2022 by jmziesmer

We rode a small portion of this trail to add miles to the Mountain Bay also done on this date. The intersection of the two trails is on grass for approximately 100 yards. If you didn't know it was there it could be missed. There was a lot of weed overgrowth on the trail, it is not well maintained. We rode from Eland to Birnamwood for a total of 8 miles.
