The Trinity Levee Trail is a part of the City of Dallas trails system. This gravel leveetop trails doubles as a maintenece road for the levee. Access is available from Westmoreland Road.
A disconnected 1.1 mile segment begins south of I-35 and connects to the Santa Fe Trestle Trail. The trail is propsed to be improved and expanded to 22.6 miles of trail and link several city parks.
Parking is available in Trinity River Greenbelt Park (3700 Sylvan Avenue).
does anyone know if the rest of the concrete trail is open in the Trinity that goes under 35 and on out south I see it on the DART blue line when we cross the Trinity from the train but I don't know how to get down there or even if its open
So I'm new to riding and haven't checked out too many places yet but I was satisfied with this trail. Nice mix of nature and city scenery and not overly crowded. Sure there is construction going on but it wasn't intrusive or disruptive to my ride and it's only because they are working to make it an even better set up. Overall, I enjoyed this apot and due to the close proximity to my house I will definitely be back an.
Although it can be considered a "mountain biking trail" it is hardly something I would like to walk let alone ride. With the construction and the pure gravel trail I couldn't wait to finish, I suggest looking at www.dorba.org for other trails in the area specific for mountain biking enthusiasts.
I have lived in Dallas for 6 years and just found this trail!
The trails provide 2 unique experiences, riding between the levees you would never even know you were in a city, but ride on top of the levee and you get one of the best views of Dallas there is. Good consistent fire-road style trail, definitely need fat tires to ride this one.
