The Sumiton Trail begins at City Hall in the heart of the community of Sumiton, which lies northwest of Birmingham. The mile-long paved trail heads west out of town and ends with a connection to the Horse Creek Trail, which leads to the neighboring community of Dora 3 miles away.
The trail is an important asset to the community, offering easy connections to Bevill State Community College, the local elementary/middle school, the public library, Sumiton Ball Fields, and the downtown area, which all lie just blocks off the trail.
Parking is available at the east end of the trail at Sumiton City Hall (416 State Street).
