The Sudley Manor Drive Trail runs parallel to the southern 4.5 miles of its namesake road in western Prince William County. The trail services a number of the surrounding communities, such as Bristow and Bull Run, and acts as a recreation and transportation route for the local residents.
At Linton Hall Road, trail users can pick up the Linton Hall Road Trail to continue their trek northwest to Gainesville.
This trail is little more than a glorified sidewalk. Its not particularly scenic, unless cars and overgrown vegetation is your thing.
Prince William PARKWAY and Wellington Road were unpleasant to cross. I had to wait a while for traffic to clear. These are the main reasons for a low rating.
I recommend sticking with the portion between University Drive and Linton Hall Road, which is OK.
Crossing ***Prince William County Parkway was a little unsafe, and the crosswalk signal either doesn't work or takes a long time. I got tired of waiting so I jaywalked it. Wellington Road wasn't all that nice either. I would recommend skipped these portions of the trail especially if you have strollers with you.
I found the trail to be clean but not especially scenic, unless overgrown vegetation is your thing. The portion in front of the fancy townhouses is nice.
So overall, I'd say the best portion of the trail is from roughly University Blvd to Linton Hall Road, where there are no big street xings and the scenery is nicer.
