The Spur Trail a wide dirt trail running through desert scrub south of Santa Fe, following a dusty route during the dry season. The trail is popular with hikers, mountain bikers and runners. Rattlesnakes do live in the area, so use caution. On the east end of the trail, you can pick up the Santa Fe Rail-Trail. On the west end of the trail, you can link to paved trails to the south through Rancho Viejo and to the north to Santa Fe Community College. West of the half-way point, at an elbow in the Spur Trail, a single-track dirt trail also connects westward into the campus of Santa Fe Community College.
Park in a small lot at the intersection of Richards Avenue and Avenida del Sur.
