Print Friendly MapThe Snake River Recpath begins in Dillon and follows the river southeast just over 6 miles to the popular Keystone Resort. Along the way, you'll enjoy spectacular mountain scenery and views of Dillon Reservoir. Various spurs provide access to the resort's core, including the Lakeside Village and Mountain House areas.
From the trail's eastern end, continue on the short Montezuma Spur Recpath to access neighborhoods along Montezuma Road. Alternatively, pick up the Swan Mountain Recpath from the Summit Cove neighborhood to climb to the spectacular Sapphire Point Overlook. In Dillon, you can continue on the Dillon Dam Recpath, which offers an additional several miles of paved pathway along the western side of the lake, as well as other trail connections.
Ample parking is available at a trailhead on US 6, directly opposite Cemetery Road (roughly halfway between Dillon and Summit Cove).
Smooth beautiful ride
We rode from DILLION TO Keystone very few hills and the scenery is tops. The entire area is trail riding heaven.
We rode our eBikes on this trail only to learn afterwards that eBikes aren’t welcome in this community. This being contrary to the bike friendly community signs posted along the roads and trails. (Colorado passed a law last year defining the classes of eBikes and our bikes fall into the category of Class I bicycles.) Unsure why this community doesn’t want eBikes on their trails. We were passed by multiple road bikers, without warning, traveling much faster than us. Despite the unwelcome attitude toward our bikes we did enjoy our ride, not much choice than to finish up once it we had gone so far. Ended up being a loop around Dillon Reservoir, all bike path except for small section of downhill road on Swan Mountain. Stopped for some lemon-aid from some enterprising little girls with a trail side lemon-aid stand.
