Nestled in the northeast corner of St. George, the Slick Rock Trail is a short neighborhood path with views of desert landscaping and distant mountains. The trail begins at a junction with the Slick Rock Park Trail in the scenic park of the same name, which offers rock climbing boulders for children, restrooms and a picnic area. The route then parallels E. Riverside Drive and travels north to reach the trail loop in one of the city's largest parks, 2450 East Park, which offers facilities for volleyball, basketball and other sports.
Parking is available at both trail endpoints: Slick Rock Park (located at 2395 Riverside Drive) and 2450 East Park (located at 2450 East 130 North).
The 2006 St George Bike Trail Map showed this as a “proposed trail“. I expected to just do the loop around the park, but noticed new asphalt leading out to the east along E Riverside Dr. After 0.2 mile it turned 90 degrees to the left and resulted in a surprising smooth trail to the loop around East Park. Including both loops the trail is 1.2 miles. Excellent new surface. Noel Keller 28 Mar 2011
