The Sandra Marker Trail runs for a mile on an east-west course through Larkspur, linking the Redwood Highway/San Clemente Drive Paths in the east with the popular NWP Railroad Trail in the west. Both the NWP Railroad Trail and the Sandra Marker Trail were built on former Northwestern Pacific Railroad lines that once extended throughout Marin County and beyond.
Technically, the brief eastern stretch of the trail along Wornum Drive is called the Wornum Pathway, but the route is uninterrupted and signage won't inform you that you've left one trail for another. Midway, the Sandra Marker Trail is bisected by the High Canal Bridge Pathway, offering easy and scenic access to Redwood High School in the north and Neil Cummins Elementary School in the south.
There are no official parking areas for the Sandra Marker Trail. The trail can be reached from the High Canal Bridge Pathway, NWP Railroad Trail, and Redwood Highway/San Clemente Drive Paths, as well as from Tamal Vista Boulevard, Apache Road and William Avenue.
