Robbins Vista View Trail offers 9 miles of paved pathway through the Imagination Farms community of Davie. Much of the route follows the town's canals and horses can be taken along some sections (check the town's website for details).
On the route's western end is Vista View Park. What was once a landfill and superfund site is now a popular recreational amenity. From the park's hilltops, you can see Fort Lauderdale to the east and the Everglades to the west. Picnic shelters, playgrounds, basketball courts, and an equestrian corral are available.
Midway along the route is Long Key Natural Area, an ecological preserve run by Broward County. Use the parks' trail system to explore its scenic woodlands and wetlands.
On the route's east side is Flamingo Gardens. In addition to its wide array of beautiful plants and trees, the park also features a wildlife sanctuary. Continue east and you'll reach Robbins Lodge and Preserve, which has an equestrian facility and horse trails.
Running parallel to the route's section along Orange Drive on the opposite side of the street, the Linear Park Trail follows the South New River Canal.
Refer to the TrailLink map to follow the route through the Town of Davie.
Parking lots can be found all along the trail, including Vista View Park (4001 SW 142nd Avenue), Long Key Natural Area (3501 S.W. 130th Avenue), Flamingo Gardens (3750 S Flamingo Road), and the Robbins Lodge and Preserve (4005 Hiatus Road). Visit the TrailLink map for all options and detailed directions.
half of the paths listed here are more similar to sidewalks than trials. However it’s safe. and is paved with mostly smooth asphalt.
Nice and interesting area for a ride. Narrow and few road crossings. Slower pace and not a spot for a higher pace workout ride. Several turns, not a problem if you have a good map memory or mounted phone.
This is not a trail, it is a route around some nice parks connected by sidewalks along local roads, some quieter than others. TrailLink map is not especially helpful, it doesn’t even mention that the section along Orange Road and that canal actually starts and ends much further than mapped for the Robbin’s Vista View Trail and is nicer than many of the other street/sidewalk loops shown. A turn by turn with street names is badly needed. I’m
Cool place..from basketball court to trails back to bbq locations... fun!
My wife and I visited this trail hoping to get in a ride on our way to Marathon, FL. The trail is better described as a five foot wide asphalt path and is certainly not a good bicycle path, especially if you were to meet another oncoming bicyclist.
However this is a perfect walking and running path in a very scenic setting which is why I give it a three star rating.
I've done all 9 miles of this trail and then some, as this area is loaded with parks and other trails (Linear Park Trail, Debbie Chandler Memorial Trail, Lone Star Trail, Pine Island Ridge Trail, Vista View Park, Long Key Nature Preserve, Tree Tops Park, Westridge Park) It's just a wonderful place to get lost in.. Happy Trails :)
I bicycled 6 miles of this 9 mile trail starting at Long Key and ending at Long Key. Trail was paved all the way through although a part of it runs on sidewalks which I don't like as much. While on the street the trail is ok but gets better when it gets off the street. You get see a little nature hidden behind some housing developments and some very nice homes. Rode to the lodge but didn't check it out. Also, Flamingo Gardens is on the trail which is a nice place to visit if you want to stop. Trail wasn't crowded on a beautiful Sunday in February. Would recommend it.
