The Pheasant Branch Creek Corridor Trail follows a lush wooded creek through Middleton, a northwestern suburb of Wisconsin’s state capital.
Its east end is anchored by the beautiful Pheasant Branch Conservancy; one can cross to the north side of Century Avenue to hop on the trail that runs through the park. Mid-way, the Pheasant Branch Creek Trail also traverses Parisi Park, which offers tennis courts, baseball diamonds, and other athletic facilities.
The paved trail continues to US Highway 12 Path, which heads northwest to Sauk City.
On the trail’s eastern end, parking is available in Pheasant Branch Conservancy (4864 Pheasant Branch Road). Mid-trail, parking is available in Parisi Park (2405 Park Street).
This is a stunning shady trail along a small river. You will hike or bike over several wooden footbridges. Stepping stones can take you over the river if you’re on foot. Mostly flat with a few elevation changes. A couple of road crossings. Great trail for kids. Gets very busy on weekends.
