Print Friendly MapThe Pheasant Branch Conservancy Trail forms a loop within the scenic Pheasant Branch Conservancy, a natural area containing a marsh, meadows, forest and hills. The area is home to a vast array of wildlife, including frogs and deer. Birdwatchers will be enthused to find herons, ducks, hawks, owls, sandhill cranes, and a variety of songbirds.
The trail is convenient to the Middleton neighborhoods on the eastern and southern edges of the conservancy. It also provides direct access to Orchid Heights Park, which offers a baseball diamond, picnic pavilion, tennis and basketball courts and soccer fields.
On the south side of Century Avenue, one can connect to the Pheasant Branch Creek Corridor Trail to head west along a wooded creek.
Parking for the Pheasant Branch Conservancy Trail is available at the conservancy’s main entrance on Pheasant Branch Road. Additional parking can be found at Orchid Heights Park on Park Trail, along the eastern edge of the Pheasant Branch Conservancy.
Pheasant Branch Conservancy is a wonderful place to bicycle, run, walk or go birding. The scenery is gorgeous. Part of the path runs along a creek and you bike over wooden footbridges. You may see cranes, geese, turkeys, deer or pheasants. Be sure to see the eagles’ nest! The bike path is great for all ages. Not a lot of elevation changes. It does get very busy on the weekends with families.

Nice trail to get outside for a short walk. It has a nice loop with trees and a river.
