Travelers on the Lake Ontario State Parkway Trail will enjoy scenic views of wooded areas, surrounding bodies of water and wetlands. The trail parallels the north side of the Parkway, which runs along Lake Ontario's southern shore. For longer excursions, adventurers can connect with the Genesee Riverway Trail at the trail's eastern end.
From Island Cottage Road, enter the driveway to the park just north of the Lake Ontario State Parkway overpass. The path begins from the parking lot and follows the north side of the Parkway, intersecting Dewey Avenue and Greenleaf Road. It ends at Latta Road, just north of the Parkway. Cyclists can follow Latta Road to connect to the Genesee Riverway Trail, although there is no special accommodation made for bicycles; pedestrians can use the sidewalk.
Nice trail very nice asphalt surface, beach was crowded with lots of no bike signs packed with bicycles.
Just resurfaced so LOSP is really nice to bike on. The Parkway has such low traffic volumes that it hardly matters that the trail runs parallel to it. Good connection between Genesee River and I-390.
Great surface! Connect from I 390 trail to go from Greece to Lake Ontaio pier. We enjoyed.
It would be a nice trail if they would cut the tall weeds and remove the tree limes ready to fall onto the trail. This use to be well maintained until a few years ago.
This was a very pretty and enjoyable ride - smooth, paved trail, easy inclines, nice variety of woods and open grassy areas, and marshlands with bridges.
We live in Hilton, so we thought this trail would be great for our first family bike ride. When the trail is going through the woods, it's a nice ride. I was a little disappointed that the trail crosses Dewey Ave, a very busy road. Also, the trail runs very close to the Parkway. If a car runs off the road, there is no protection for you. Not sure if we would do this trail again.
