Print Friendly MapThe Furneaux Creek Blue Trail is a picturesque 6.5-mile route that follows its namesake creek through Carrollton, a northern suburb of Dallas. The paved pathway offers views of ponds, lakes, and fields of wildflowers with several access points to neighborhoods along the way.
Midway along the route, the Furneaux Creek Blue Trail connects to the Furneaux Creek Orange Trail on the water's southern bank by Woodbury. Combine both trails to extend your journey.
On-street parking is available on the residential streets along the route. You can park at Tree Line Park (1854-1886 Tree Line Dr) and at Branch Hollow Park (2050 E Branch Hollow Dr). Visit the TrailLink map for detailed directions.
This is a nice trail along Furneaux Creek. It's scenic, but not much shade. The trail is wide and relatively flat. The only "hills" are where it dips under major streets. There are only 3 street crossings (all are residential streets). Traffic is light on weekdays, a mix of bikers, runners and walkers. With the 2021 extensions it's now 6.5 mi. Add the Orange Trail and you can easily get a 15 mile ride.
The blue trail has opened an extension in May 2021 that can add an extra 2 miles to the trail. And if you don’t want to do an out and back on this paved extension, you can simply go down a paved path and pick the blue trail back up at a lower level.

Thank you City of Carrollton. Put on 800+ miles on my bike this year with Covid. When will the Old Denton extension to Rosemeade and beyond be completed?
Trail was extended to Old Denton to the West and Hebron to the North several years ago.
I started riding the Heborn extension last year and thought that it would be great to extend the trail further. Well the trail was extended from McCoy to Old Denton and this section is good. I would hope that the Heborn end will extend to the Plano green belt trails opening the Carrollton trails to nice long protected rides. The existing 4.25 mile trail is great for a protected exercise area and a great 15K round trip from surrounding homes.
Nice ride through a very well kept Carrollton,TX city park area. Referred to as the "Blue Trail" on all the signage and now is 4.25 miles in length. Connects directly to the "Orange Trail" which is 1.75 miles in length.
Good ride with terrain changes. Trail narrows in several places with some blind curves under several underpasses.
