The Firestone Trail mostly parallels Colorado Boulevard between Firestone in the north and Dacono in the south. The trail is paved and provides access to parks, neighborhoods, and businesses. At the north end, an unpaved part of the trail continues north of Firestone Road to CR 26.
Park in a lot along Main Street just south of 8th Street in Dacono. In Firestone, park at Gateway Park (100 Grant Ave.) or Harney Park (near 10250 Devonshire St.).
This trail was easy to access and walk. Parking is available all around at memorials and in bordering neighborhoods. The only downside is that it follows a major road. You have to listen to the sounds of traffic. There’s not much nature.
For at least 6 months I have walked this trail and it has a low spot just south of the Safeway Shopping Center which has water across it. Someone had laid a board across it but today you could not get across because the water was too high, you take your life in your hands if you go up and walk Co blvd, so I turned around very much disappointed to have my walk disrupted. Wonder when Firestone will get around to getting this problem fixed?
