The Eastbrooke Trail forms a useful link between the city of Olathe's 133rd Street Path and the lengthy regional backbone, the Indian Creek Bike/Hike Trail. This paved, short trail serves as a nice additional to the area's trail network, and an amenity for local residents along its route.
Starting in the north, the trail heads south from the Indian Creek Trail and crosses over the creek. The path runs under 127th Street via an underpass, and proceeds into a pleasantly wooded corridor located between quiet residential neighborhoods. Numerous access points along the way allow residents from the adjacent neighborhoods to hop on and off the trail, as the trail continues to the south into Eastbrooke Park, which hosts a water fountain, playground, and picnic shelter. Shortly before the park, the trail branches, with the other path heading to the southeast, where it ends at the 133rd Street Path. Past the park on the other branch, the trail continues through trees and fields before coming to an end at 133rd Street, where the 133rd Street Path allows users to extend their journey across the suburban outskirts of Olathe.
There is no dedicated trail parking for this trail. On-street parking may be available; be sure to follow any posted signs or warnings.
To reach the northern end of the trail from the direction of Kansas City, take I-35 heading south towards Olathe, and take exit 220. Turn left onto W 119th Street, and head east for about a mile. Turn right onto S Pflumm Rd and head south, then turn right onto W 127th Street. The trail begins on the right in about 500 feet, just before Saint Andrew Christian Church.
