Doylestown Bike and Hike Trails Description

The Doylestown Bike and Hike Trails system provides a convenient car-free network of paved pathways to get around this eastern Pennsylvania community, about 30 miles north of Philadelphia. With more than a dozen miles of trail, residents and visitors can connect to parks, schools, shopping areas, and local attractions. The trail also runs close to the SEPTA Regional Rail Line stations in town, enhancing its usefulness as a transportation corridor.

A highlight of the route is the town's Central Park with more than 100 acres of family-oriented fun, including the amazing Kids Castle play area, picnic pavilions, tennis and basketball courts, and soccer fields.

The trails reach neighboring New Britain as well, including the borough's Covered Bridge Park, a beautiful open space nestled along Pine Run Creek with a picnic pavilion, playground, and historical bridge dating back to 1842.

The trail system directly connects to the 202 Parkway Trail and is only a short on-road ride away from the Peace Valley Park Hike & Bike Trail. Even better, Doylestown's trail system is also part of The Circuit, a developing 750-mile trail network in the Greater Philadelphia region.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking is available at Doylestown's Central Park (425 Wells Road) and Community Fields (at the intersection of Avenue A and N. West Street).

For those taking public transportation, the trail runs close to a few stations on the SEPTA Regional Rail Line: Doylestown Station (130 S. Clinton Ave.), Delaware Valley University Station (700 East Butler Ave.), and New Britain Station (Tamenend & Matthews Avenues).
