The Continental Avenue Bridge, which opened in 2014 for pedestrians and bicyclists, crosses the Trinity River in downtown Dallas. Originally built as a road bridge in 1933, it now features such novelties as a playground with geometric climbing blocks, life-sized chess board, and meditation plaza, as well as lounge chairs, shade structures, and a splash park.
For a longer ride or walk, you can easily connect to the Trinity Skyline Trail, which spans 5 miles along both sides of the Trinity River.
Parking is available on the west side of the Continental Avenue Bridge (109 Continental Avenue).
Wonderful trail across bridge connecting Trinity Groves restaurants in South Dallas to Downtown Dallas. Playground on bridge makes it fun for the family! Can see Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge and overlooks the Trinity River. Can bike, walk or ride scooters. Nearby parking or accessible from Trinity Skyline Trail.
