Bloomington's Clear Creek Trail runs between Tapp Road in the north and the Blooming Rail Trail in the south, linking with the latter just north of Church Lane. Although the Clear Creek Trail is wheelchair accessible, the Bloomington Rail Trail is not.
The trail meanders along Clear Creek through a wooded linear park with small tracts of open space and behind suburban back yards.
At Chruch Lane, the trail also connects to the Limestone Greenway, a paved 1.8-mile pathway south of Bloomington, via the Bloomington Rail Trail.
Parking and access to the Clear Creek Rail Trail is available at the northern terminus off Tapp Road and just north of That Road near where it intersects the creek and trail.
You can also access it from the Bloomington Rail Trail, just north of Church Lane. Head north on the Bloomington Rail Trail from the parking lot and soon you will see the trailhead for Clear Creek, about 0.25 mile along.
Our family biked here this weekend and loved it. Very pretty creek and woods area. The trail has lots of benches to rest on and no one else on the trail seemed bothered by our slow caravan of bikers ¿
This is our family’s favorite trail to ride! A great mixture of scenery with plenty of shade, and areas with sunshine to.
Have ridden this trail several times recently. Lots of shade, mainly flat and very safe. A great quick ride with nice scenery.
Walked part of the trail today and was impressed! Clean, paved & well marked. I was surprised to see mile markers. Both families and individuals were walking, running and bike riding enjoying the day.
I enjoy walking the rails-to-trails of Bloomington as well as riding my bike on the B Line and Clear Creek trails. I've walked my dog and walked with friends. I've noticed in town that there are officers on bike. It feels safe. People are friendly. There are nice tree covered areas, benches, maintained water fountains for people and pets. It is a great thing to have in the city. I live in the country and drive in a little way in for a safer place to ride my bike and walk my pets without worrying about curvy rodes and traffic. Highly recommend the trails in Bloomington.
