Camp Creek Greenway Description

Camp Creek Greenway runs through the city of Lilburn in northeastern Atlanta. It's paved and scenic, traversing woodlands for much of its journey. Deer, rabbits, foxes, owls, and other birds are often spotted in this natural setting. The ADA accessible trail features a 958-foot section of boardwalk and two short spur pathways provide connections to the surrounding neighborhoods. Pets are welcome; be sure to use the waste stations provided along the way.

At its western end, the trail connects to the paved 0.8-mile loop in Lions Club Park. Heading east through the woods, it parallels Camp Creek. Curving around Lilburn City Park, the trail continues to follow the creek north to the intersection of Poplar Street and Killian Hill Road. Both parks have playgrounds, restrooms, pavilions, and a variety of other recreational amenities.

Parking and Trail Access

Parking is available at Lions Club Park (5500 Rockbridge Cir NW), on Velva Court Road NW (connect to the trail via the short spur pathway), and at Lilburn City Park (76 Main Street). Visit the TrailLink map for detailed directions.

Great trail

We had a fun time on the paved road with the baby in the stroller. Awesome restaurants in the area and public bathrooms!

Great, except after rain

I bike this trail quite a bit. It is generally well maintained but can be a muddy mess after rain. Many portions of the pavement are below the surrounding grade and get mud flows that cover the path in spots.

It can be a bit difficult to bike during high pedestrian traffic times, so if you want to bike, pick your time to ride. A tough hill on one of the Killian Hill forks and on the other end at Lions Club Park, but the rest is river grade.

Nice place to grab a beer or taco at the "bus" in the park in the middle of the trail, too.

The scenery and the set up is great for bike riding and nice walks with the wife. However, we haven't seen any deers or wild animals yet.
