Auburn-Fleming Trail Reviews

Excellent conditions today, even after a couple days of heavy rain. Looks like some recent work has been done between the Dunning trail head and first bridge!

We walked the trail and found it private and pleasant. The total distance of 3.2 miles from start and returning is a good length for us. Our only complaint is the beginning (entering from Dunning Ave) is very muddy and hard to maneuver.

Relaxing

It was a nice walk! Little muddy this time of year, as should’ve expected.

Not wheelchair accessible

Went to this trial last week... I am handicapped and use a light scooter for trails. We tried as railroad trail in Skaneatlis and enjoyed it so we thought we'd try this trail. We should have know we were in trouble at the very beginning but we kept on going. The trail had ties sticking high enough above the ground to cause quite a bumpy ride.I got stuck in between ties and rocks a couple of times .Stuck enough so that I had to get off the scooter (I can only stand for a minute} and my husband had to push the scooter off ties. There were a couple of bridges that were elevated higher then the dirt so we also had trouble at the bridges. There is as section of of trail that is flat with no obstacles and that is toward the end. While on the trail we met people on bikes, walking and motor bikes. It is as nice short trail but it is not suited for the handicapped.

Accordion

Enjoyable.

This trail is very enjoyable, especially during the Autumn Season. No complaints.

Better for walking than cycling

Rode this with a loaded touring bike in September. There are lots of roots and some rocks making for slow going. Near the northern end is a swampy section with cross-laid boards that was really rough. The scenery was interesting, especially in this lowland section, but not sure it's worth it.

A nice trail. It should be longer

Auburn and the Auburn Fleming Trail. It's a portion of the Auburn-Ithaca trolley line. Just a mile and a half long, it still has all its original railroad bridges. To the north it's posted. The trail looks physically in good condition. I suspect that the property owners simply don't want a trail. To the south it runs through a propane distributorship and disappears in some brush. It's a nice trail. It should be longer.
