We rode from Dockweiler RV Park North today (Sunday). Not as much traffic this way and a big portion of the trail has a separate walking section. Fun to go thru Venice! It is 9.5 miles to the Santa Monica pier and another 2.5 (total 12) to the blocked off section by National guard. That is the start of the fire area from the palisade fire. Never bored on this trail.
We stay at Dockweiler State RV which is right on the trail. From the RV to the south end of the trail is 9 miles. Lots of fun things to look at/people to see/places to eat. Try to avoid Sat&Sun if you can. Lots lots of walkers/dogs/other bikers but nobody seems bothered by anything. We love camping here and riding this trail. Never boring.
From Seal Beach to Los Alamitos this is fun. After that you hit sone random cool spots up into Bellflower. After that its all industrials, menkey back yard ranches, dried up river beds, homeless camps & trash. Im continually blown away by how many people live in the California river beds.
Would have been swell but the disgusting bathrooms and homeless people shooting up at the beach park was enough for us to not want to come back to this one. Huntington Beach is way better.
It starts off well and goes to ¿ real quick. The train track crossing was cool the people living on the bike path doing drugs were not. Not the best place to go on a date.
I away used to ride this trail ever since a couple months ago
Took the path from LA sierra to Main Street and back. Around 11 miles, it's pretty easy. No hills. 9/26/24
I enjoy this out and back I stay at Oceanside North Harbor and it's just a great ride
Started to get bored so I bought myself a bike, I came out here to these trails, first I started from fairmount park in riverside and made my way north on the trail from there made it to the 10 freeway and back with no problems other than the heat( carful out there guys take water), as for the other bikers, all out there you’ll see them remember to say hello ! There were homeless on the trail next to the river but I had no issues with them. Definitely five stars from me, mostly because there was a vast distance to cover and I got the workout I needed, coming back for sure!
