Jan. 16, 2025 - The trailway will be closed from the Weatherford Trailhead to Garner Trailhead from Jan. 26 to March. 15, 2025 for extensive improvements. Other areas of the trailway may be closed as well.

It's a direct trail between 2 good routes. There are street crossings, and there can be mud in wet weather. It's very good for normal commuting, but I would not bring kids who aren't comfortable with traffic.
The park is where Spring Valley Stables used to be. Running up horses in those trees is no picnic Are the cemeteries still there? There should be two. The little one has 3 places in it and the large one has about 25-30. There’s a lot of history there.
Started on the trail in Farmersville. It's a quaint town with parking right a the trail head. The first couple of miles were well-maintained and paved. Then the trail switched to crushed rock. Still able to cycle but had to watch out for holes in the path and uneven transitions to bridges. Then right where the trail crossed FM2194, the trail turned into two tire ruts just filled with large rocks. Passable by mountain bike but not on my street bike.
This is a nice paved trail that stretches a decent chuck of the McKinney suburbs. Plenty of places to split off and hit a store if you need some quick fuel or hydration.
Make sure you have water with you. Very pretty and clean, plenty of places to sit. No places to easily access water/drinks/snacks, no shady trees yet. I like the trail, but once you get away from the east end, you're on your own.
Much if the trail to the right of entrance closed off. Didn’t get a chance to ride the lake route. Otherwise nice ride.
Love these trails. Always so crowded and paths are very narrow.
We loved this hike. The wide trails so it was easy to pass other people on bikes or with dogs. Very clean. A hidden treasure. We loved it. Wish I would have found this before I lost my Golden he would have loved it.
Started it at the very nice New Boston trailhead and after 3 miles the asphalt disappears into dirt and grass. It’s very doable on a gravel or mt. bike but this is not a paved greenway by any means. Hopefully it eventually becomes one.
Rode part of the trail on 08/03/24. Trail is still closed east of Hwy 1195. According to other reviews it has been closed for at least a year. And maintenance on the open stretch west of Hwy 1195 does not seem to not exist. So right now I cannot recommend riding the trail.
