Woodbine Railroad Trail Description

The Woodbine Railroad Trail occupies the right-of-way of a former Pennsylvania and Reading Railroad line. The paved pathway traverses Woodbine as it parallels Dehirsch Avenue; a wide grassy median dotted with trees separates it from the roadway. Towards its southern end, patches of the trail are pleasantly wooded and the trail ends at the boundary of the Cape May National Wildlife Refuge.

Parking and Trail Access

Take the Garden State Parkway to Exit 20 to U.S. Route 9 South to County Route 550 North. As soon as you get near Woodbine, you will see a railroad bridge overhead. Take the first left after the overpass onto Fidler Hill Road. At the first light (Dehirsch Avenue), park where it is safe and allowed. The trail starts here and heads north along Route 550.

Woodbine Railroad Trail Reviews

Good trail to bike! Pretty flat paved trail. Not much foot or bike traffic. We biked on Memorial Day Weekend and we passed only three bikers.

enjoyable ride

The family and I did this trail and it was quite we stopped short of the traffic circle and turned around. We parked at the culdesac at the end of Dehirsch ave and rode from there. My 8yo has a new BMX bike and completed our round trip with no problem. Be careful of traffic around the airport and the Ford and Chevy dealerships

Woodbine Trail - good for beginners

We stopped by here on our way south to the Cape May Zoo. The directions above are not correct. From the GSP we set our GPS to Woodbine and found our way. Intersection of county 550 and Fidler road. After crossing under the railroad bridge we made the first left and quick right and parked in the grass near a gazebo. The path itself is paved and runs between two other roads. It is partially shaded and flat with benches and gazebos here and there. There looked to be a big public park Lincoln Park where there seemed to be kids play areas. I wanted to explore the little airport near by - we saw a beach banner plane struggle to take off from there. At the far end the paved trail ended and it became a nicely packed gravel trail with woods on either side. I road down that a half mile or so and turned back...not sure how far that goes. There is a restaurant Sopranos pizza there if you need refreshment. The trail is flat and not busy and good for beginner kids. Bring water!
